About Altroverso™

My name is Paolo Maria Pavan.

If you Google my name, you may find reasons to think you do not want any business relationship with me.

You may find the bankruptcy.

You may find the bad press.

You may find the collapse before you find the reconstruction.

That is precisely why this page exists.

Because what appears first in public is not always the deepest truth. More often, it is only the loudest fragment of it.

Altroverso™ was not built from uninterrupted successCollapse does not hurt numbers alone. It hurts peopleThen came reconstructionI built the business clinic I once neededWhat I bring to this work nowThe real lessonWhy Altroverso™ existsIf you come to Altroverso™

Altroverso™ was not built from uninterrupted success

Altroverso™ was built from collapse, pressure, humiliation, study, discipline, recovery, and the decision not to waste any of it.

I know what happens when a company stops being only a company and becomes a distortion of reality around the founder. I know what it means when pressure is no longer professional only, but physical, mental, and existential.

I know the bankruptcy.
I know the drinking.
I know the depression.
I know the panic attacks.
I know what it means not to be able to drive properly, not to be able to go out, not to recognise yourself anymore.
I know what it means to sleep in the office after collapse because ordinary life has lost its structure.
I also know what it means to be judged as a bad CEO while knowing that the consultancy work delivered to clients was never the real point of failure.

That distinction matters.

I did not lose all value. I lost orientation. I lost proportion. I lost myself.

Too many people confuse the collapse of a company with the collapse of a human being. Too many founders eventually believe that lie themselves.

A business can fail. A person can collapse under pressure. A season of life can become dark, humiliating, and destructive. But competence, truth, discipline, judgment, and value can still survive underneath the debris.

Collapse does not hurt numbers alone. It hurts people

This is one of the lessons I will never minimise.

When a business collapses, it does not damage numbers alone. It damages people.

Every stakeholder, supplier, collaborator, creditor, client, and partner carries a life behind the invoice, the contract, or the expectation of continuity. To hurt someone financially may not wound the body, but it can still wound the shape of a life. It can alter trust, security, timing, family rhythm, decisions, and future possibilities.

That is not only a legal fact. It is a human one. And it remains a responsibility, not only as a CEO, but as a human being.

Business is never only business when someone else pays the price for its failure.

Then came reconstruction

For a period of time, I lost access not only to stability, but to myself. I forgot what I knew. I forgot what I was.

Then came the part nobody romanticises properly: reconstruction.

Not rebranding.
Not performance.

Reconstruction.

Study. Silence. Discipline. Education. Analysis. Repetition. Daily work. Harder structure. Better judgment.

Then formal qualification. ICA certification. A deeper seriousness towards governance, risk, compliance, business reality, and the early signals through which entrepreneurs slowly lose control long before the final break becomes visible.

Recovery did not arrive as inspiration. It arrived as disciplined work.

That is where Altroverso™ was born.

I built the business clinic I once needed

I did not build Altroverso™ as an exercise in positioning. I built it because I know what is missing when a founder is losing clarity, when a company is becoming unwell, and when no one around is naming the condition honestly enough.

Altroverso™ is the business clinic I once needed.

Not a place for slogans.

Not a place for vanity.

Not a place for comforting illusions.

A serious place where a founder or company can come when something feels off, when the problem is already real, or when the event is over but the business is still not well.

That is why Altroverso™ exists before, during, and after difficulty.

Before, because many entrepreneurs feel that something is wrong long before they can explain it. The company becomes heavier. Clarity weakens. Pressure grows. The same patterns repeat. But without the right language, there is rarely serious intervention.

During, because once the problem is active, most businesses are surrounded by fragmentation. One advisor sees one part. One report names one symptom. One specialist addresses one consequence. But a company is lived as a whole, and when it becomes unwell, it does not do so in neat categories.

After, because surviving the acute phase is not the same as recovering. A business may still be fragile. A founder may still be governed by fear, confusion, shame, or avoidance. The same structural weaknesses may still be present, waiting for the next shock. Recovery is the disciplined work of becoming sound again.

That is the duty Altroverso™ serves.

What I bring to this work now

Today I bring everything into that duty: the lived collapse, the public exposure, the recovery, the hard study, the renewed discipline, the market reading, the daily analysis, the continued education, and the lessons learned at a cost I would never romanticise.

I do this because I do not want entrepreneurs to drift into blindness the way I once did. I do not want them to confuse shame with truth, delay with strength, or collapse with identity.

I believe something simple and demanding:

A company may fail without all value being destroyed.

A founder may lose himself without becoming worthless.

A collapse may expose illusion, but it may also uncover truth.

What was once survived in confusion can later be offered in clarity, service, and duty.

The real lesson

This work was not shaped by perfection, but by collapse, consequence, and reconstruction.

The bankruptcy was real. The judgment was real. The personal disorientation was real. But so were the study, the discipline, the qualification, and the gradual return to clearer judgment.

What remained was not the need to defend the past, but the obligation to understand it properly.

The lesson was never that failure does not matter. It does. The lesson was that the fall of a company must not be confused with the full value of a human being. Structures can break. Judgment can distort. Values can lose direction. Consequences can be severe. But a person cannot be reduced to the worst chapter of his commercial life.

The task is not denial. It is not self-pity either. The task is to learn from consequence with enough honesty and discipline that it becomes responsibility.

That responsibility is now the work.

Why Altroverso™ exists

Altroverso™ exists so that entrepreneurs have a serious place to turn before confusion hardens into damage, before shame becomes identity, before fragmentation becomes collapse, and before the urgent event is mistaken for the whole truth of the business.

It exists so that companies can be examined with clarity across governance, risk, compliance, finance, tax seriousness, and the real pressures that shape business life.

So yes, if you Google Paolo Maria Pavan, you may hesitate.

But if you read further, you may discover something more useful than a polished success story: someone who knows what collapse does, what pressure distorts, what recovery costs, what discipline rebuilds, and what duty remains once the illusions are gone.

That is not a liability for this work.

That is the reason this work exists.

If you come to Altroverso™

You do not need to arrive polished.

You do not need to pretend.

You do not need to perform certainty.

You can come when something feels wrong.

You can come when something is wrong.

You can come when the event is over but the business is still weak.

You can come when what you need is not applause, but diagnosis. Not mythology, but structure. Not judgment, but truth strong enough to help.

That is what I once needed.

That is why this clinic exists now.
